The Mishion Storyline occurs on the brink of a new age. The stories begin as humanity has just come out of what could have become a major dark age, and is on the brink of either tottering and falling back into a dark age that will last for centuries or pressing on to a new golden age. The guild represents a force of warrior scientists attempting to preserve humanity and protect it from the forces that would cause it to fall. As a tribute to this idea, many of the stories begin with the word dark (dark band risen, dark hunter, etc.)

Mishion Technology
The main technological tools and weapons used by characters are listed below.
- Teather Cord – a magnet-based grappling hook that wraps around a target and links to itself again until the magnet is turned off, it can also link to meatle surfaces.
- Stun Pistol – a bright flash of energy that briefly paralyzes the target.
- Energy Rifle – fires a rapid burst of radiation energy that scorches or disentigrates the targeted area, a dangerous, not often used weapon.
- Explosive Launcher – fires mini-detonations that do minimal damge on their own, but are often effective in quick bursts.
- Magnetic Activation Charge – thick circular discs that activate and explode when locked onto meatle.
- Nanite Shurkin – a mechanical shurkin that can do things from return to sender, to explode, or poison.
Villans
The Dark Band – a group of five villains bent on destroying the guild, and very nearly succeeded.
Death Grim (the lifeless man) – the leader of the Dark Band, he is twice as dangerous as any other member of the group; he is the only member to escape.
Orion – A deadly assassin proved to be the former mayor Rufus Malin, who planned to stop both Death Grim and the guild to free humanity from what he perceived to be an unnatural state
