Zane is the first elemental Aetherion born in a thousand years and is the main character of the Aetherion stories. The stories revolve around Zane’s attempt to discover his place and his power in the other ranks of the Aetherion. Zane is first introduced in the story A New Horizon, in which he discovers he is an Aetherion and must escape from an Onyxian with his new friend Lee.
Zane’s abilities revolve around the summoning and controlling of storms. In A New Horizon, he uses a storm to destroy an Onyxian, and in A Darkened Place, he uses a storm to collapse a mountainside. Zane’s powers are inhibited by metal (when he touches it, it burns him), and metal stops him from being able to summon storms.
