Aethrion Monsters
The Aetherion monsters (also known as Minions) have an interesting classification system. They are classified with Kingdom, Phylum, Class, etc. However, minion classifications are slightly different than animal classifications. Namely, in the fact that someone from one Phylum may be in a class that a minion from another phylum also is in.
There is only one kingdom (so it is never mentioned in the classification schema), it is the kingdom Hytoike (denoting that the minions serve the Hytoike). The three Phylums are: of Forge (meaning it is made of metal), of Earth (meaning it is a creature of mud and stone), and lastly of both Earth and Forge (creatures that are of both, like the Omne Ferrum Terrea). The two classes (that members of different Phyla are divided into) are Shard and Inanimate. Denoting whether they used to be a human (shard) or were given semi-consciousness from an inanimate object (inanimate). There are many different Orders. The various creatures (and their classification schema) are listed below.
- Onyxian (Phylum: Forge, Class: Shard, Order: Humaniform, Family: Industa) – powerful beings of metal and darkness, evil creatures created of broken minds. Onyxians are the strongest humaniform shards and the most powerful for their size, making them the best for subversion and destruction. The Onyxian is capable of summoning a dark energy that pulverizes items near it.
- Chalybsors (Phylum: Forge, Class: Shard, Order: Humaniform, Family: Clasher) – Minions very similar to Onyxians, they have no metaphysical abilities (such as teleportation or summoning energy) and rely mostly on their blunt wacking of anyone and everyone in their way or out of it. They are not usually seen to be that smart; different species of Chalybsor have varying levels of intelligence.
