Eric is a friend of Thomas and a cousin of Maria. He is first introduced in the story Villainy Viciousness and Vegetables, where he is attacked by a pack of were-potatoes along with Thomas and his cousin. Eric is staying with his uncle throughout the stories while his parents do an archeological dig in Saudi Arabia. Eric mentions a few times that his parents leaving him behind upsets him. He is sixteen years old during the first story but turns seventeen by Curse of the Spuds.
In the first story about Eric, he discovers that his cousin is a telepath and that his friend sees monsters, and so reluctantly, he is drawn into a world of craziness. He appears as the main character in several stories and is in all but Nibblerflutzer and Of Other Worlds.
In the only story after Nibblerflutzer that he isn’t in, Maria, his cousin, mentions him to Jed while the two of them are heading through town, escaping the See’ki’sor.
Eric is an important character to the Nibblerflutzer storyline, giving it one of its main and most vibrant personalities
