Thomas is the younger brother of Kirk, an explorer first mentioned in the story Nibblerflutzer. In the story Nibblerflutzer, Thomas is presented as a six-year-old genius and somewhat of a silly person. He mistakenly calls a squirrel a Nibblerflutzer before running into a sasquatch-like creature, which his brother Kirk names a Nibblerflutzer in honor of the squirrel mix up.
Thomas also appears in the story Villainy Viciousness and Vegetables, set ten years later. In this story, he is 16 and has continued to have monster run-ins along with his now explorer brother. He can add ‘were-potato’ to his list of monsters he’s encountered by the end of the story. He is also in the story Curse of the Spuds assisting his friend Eric with were-potato-related problems once again.
Thomas is mentioned in the story Shadow’s Survival, although he makes no actual appearance. Eric, at one point, speaks to his cousin, saying they need to run to “Thomas’s house” to be safe.
